Based on the very popular Universal Texture Convertor (UTC), the developers have taken the features that made UTC great, improved on them, and simplified the interface to create a easy-to-use software tool that everyone in the Poser community should own. TC2 also has the ability to support the newer generation characters (like Daz3D's Victoria 4 figure). By using various complex algorithms, TC2 "renders" a new set of textures by shifting the texture parts around so that the new texture will fit the selected target figure. For example, you could use TC2 to convert your favorite Victoria 3 texture set to work on Victoria 4.

The conversion options depend on what plugins you have installed - TC2 will only convert to and from a figure plugin that you have installed.
TC2 Plugins come in families. The main family is obviously human figures, but in future it will expand to include various toon figures, clothing and possibly even animals. However, plugins can only be created for models that share the same structure, but different texture layout.
You can convert textures between any plugins belonging to the same family, so converting textures from Victoria 4 to the Millenium Horse would never be an option (no matter how much you'd like it).
